Challenge
Fragrance advertising depends heavily on emotion
Unlike food, fashion, or automotive advertising, the audience cannot directly see what is being sold. A perfume film therefore has to communicate an invisible sensation through light, movement, texture, music, and visual symbolism. The main challenge was creating a luxury fragrance world with generative AI while preventing it from feeling synthetic or overly decorative. Smoke was particularly difficult. It needed to behave naturally throughout the commercial while also serving a very specific narrative purpose. For the final sequence, the smoke had to: originate naturally from the incense burner expand without suddenly changing direction obscure the original object maintain cinematic volume and texture gradually form the fragrance bottle complete the transformation without visible morphing artifacts The product itself also had to remain perfectly recognizable. Fragrance bottles rely heavily on geometry, typography, glass reflections, liquid color, cap proportions, and label placement. Even small inconsistencies can make a premium product feel incorrect. Another challenge was maintaining the pacing of a luxury fragrance film across approximately thirty seconds without filling the commercial with unnecessary scenes. The solution was to allow the atmosphere and transformation to carry the narrative instead of adding more locations or characters.
