ROOH is a Saudi bottled water brand built around a simple human truth: sometimes, a small bottle of cold water can completely change a moment. For the campaign, Rababa developed a complete AI-powered commercial from the ground up — from product visualization and character development to location design, cinematic direction, motion generation, and final visual treatment. The goal was to create an everyday Saudi story that felt natural, relatable, and emotionally familiar while maintaining the visual quality and pacing of a premium commercial. The campaign was built around the brand message: “ترد الروح وتروي العطشان” Refresh the soul. Quench the thirst.

the story

The film follows ROOH Water through a series of familiar everyday moments. A runner pushes through the heat. Workers take a break after physical effort. Different people move through streets, shops, and outdoor spaces under the Saudi sun — each experiencing the same simple need: water. Instead of treating the bottle as a traditional product hero, we made it part of the story. The bottle moves naturally between environments and characters, becoming the connecting element throughout the film. Each scene builds around a moment of effort, heat, or exhaustion, followed by the small sense of relief that comes from drinking cold water. The storytelling remains simple and visual, allowing the audience to immediately understand the emotion without requiring heavy dialogue or explanation. By the final moments, ROOH is no longer presented as just bottled water. It becomes the feeling of getting your energy back.

Behind The Project

The strongest work is built through control, not noise.

Challenge

feel like one production

The biggest challenge was creating an entire commercial world using generative AI while keeping it visually consistent enough to feel like one production. Every element had to remain controlled across multiple shots: the ROOH bottle design, label proportions, brand colors, character appearances, wardrobe, locations, lighting direction, camera language, and overall commercial aesthetic. AI video generation can easily introduce inconsistencies between shots — changing faces, clothing, product geometry, environments, or even the physical proportions of the bottle. Another challenge was authenticity. The commercial needed to feel unmistakably Saudi without becoming exaggerated or artificial. The streets, architecture, clothing, weather, shops, characters, and environmental details all needed to feel like places and people that could genuinely exist in Saudi Arabia. The product itself also had to remain visually recognizable throughout the campaign rather than being regenerated differently in every shot.

Solution

creative direction

We approached the commercial more like a traditional film production than a collection of AI generations. First, the visual world was designed before animation began. The ROOH bottle and branding were established as controlled reference assets. Characters were developed individually, with their appearance and wardrobe defined before being introduced into scenes. Locations were also generated separately and treated as reusable virtual sets. This allowed us to direct each scene using a consistent visual system rather than asking the AI to redesign the world every time. Each sequence was then broken into individual shots with specific instructions for: camera position and lens choice character blocking movement direction product placement lighting environmental activity shot duration beginning and ending positions This shot-by-shot approach gave us significantly more control over continuity and made the final edit feel like footage captured during the same production. The creative direction deliberately avoided overly artificial AI camera movement. Instead, the cinematography followed familiar commercial filmmaking language — controlled tracking shots, close product details, medium character shots, natural environmental movement, and carefully timed hero moments.

AI Workflow

the Process

The production started by building a library of consistent visual assets. 01 — Brand & Product Development The ROOH bottle was designed and refined as a dedicated product asset before production. The packaging, logo placement, bottle proportions, typography, and brand colors were established first so the product could remain consistent throughout the campaign. Clean product references were then used during scene generation rather than asking the model to recreate the packaging from text alone. 02 — Character Development Every main character was created as a separate reusable model. This included characters such as the runner, workers, and other people appearing throughout the story. Wardrobe, skin tone, age, physical appearance, and styling were established beforehand to improve character consistency between shots. 03 — Location Design Instead of generating a completely new environment for every scene, individual Saudi locations were developed as virtual production sets. These included residential streets, main roads, shop environments, outdoor working areas, grocery locations, and other everyday spaces used throughout the campaign. The locations were designed to support realistic character positioning and multiple camera angles. 04 — Shot Design Every shot was prompted individually. Prompts included precise information about composition, camera height, focal length, subject positioning, physical movement, facial direction, product interaction, environmental behavior, and timing. References for the character, product, and location were combined to reduce visual drift between generations. 05 — Motion Generation The approved still frames became the visual foundation for the video generation process. Motion was kept intentional and physically believable. Rather than asking the model to invent an entire scene, each generation focused on a limited action — running, walking, reaching for the bottle, drinking, opening a refrigerator, or interacting naturally with the environment. This reduced unwanted AI behavior and gave the edit much stronger continuity.

CGI Workflow

films final level of control and polish.

Generative AI created the foundation of the campaign, while the CGI and post-production workflow gave the film its final level of control and polish. The ROOH bottle was treated as a hero product throughout the finishing process. Product details were refined where necessary to maintain consistent packaging, proportions, label alignment, and brand colors from shot to shot. Water elements, reflections, condensation, highlights, and environmental interaction were enhanced to give the product a more tactile and refreshing appearance. Additional compositing was used where necessary to integrate branding and product elements naturally into the generated environments. Shots were then matched through color correction, contrast, exposure, and texture so footage generated separately would feel as though it belonged to the same camera and production. The final result combines AI-generated characters and environments, controlled virtual production, CGI enhancement, compositing, and cinematic post-production into one unified commercial. Rather than using AI simply as a generation tool, the project demonstrates a production workflow where AI is directed with the same principles used in traditional filmmaking — pre-production, casting, location design, cinematography, continuity, editing, and finishing.
